National Coffee Day! - My Ice Coffee Recipe

Today is national coffee day!!

I am a lover of ice coffee so I thought I would share my favorite recipe, and my favorite local coffee shops in my area east of Pittsburgh. Hope you love them, and if you know of a coffee shop in Pittsburgh you love - make sure you let me know!

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup warm strong coffee (espresso roast preferable)
¼ cup almond milk
1½ teaspoons maple syrup
ice

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix the coffee, almond milk, maple syrup together in a cup.
Let cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.

Fill a large glass with ice. Pour coffee over ice and stir a few times to chill.
Enjoy!

I love making homemade ice coffee but of course I have some favorite coffee shops around the city.

Here are my top picks for coffee shops east of Pittsburgh!

Sweet Buzz Bean & Bistro

This is such a charming little bistro! They have a huge menu for breakfast, lunch, and a ton of coffee to pick from! They are very reasonable prices and have a family friendly atmosphere. This our favorite stop on a Sunday morning after we go on our morning nature walk.

Address: Harrison City-Jeannette Road, Harrison City, PA 15636, USA

Chaye Coffee & Tea

This is the perfect place if you are a coffee and tea lover! They have a huge selection of teas, and coffee to pick from. The owner is very knowledgeable in loose leaf tea, and will help point you in the right direction if your unsure what to order. They also have vegetarian options, and a lot of healthy choices in the breakfast/lunch menu.

Address: 4552 William Penn Hwy, Murrysville, PA 15668

Spinolas Bake Shop

This is the perfect place if your looking to get have a sweet with your coffee. I love how adorable this bake shop, and the customer service is wonderful. My favorite part is they offer gluten free options on cookies and other bake goods. Its nice being able to have a coffee and goodie (while still keeping away from gluten).
